Conor McGregor leaves ‘GWOAT’ Claressa Shields in awe with training routine ahead of UFC 300

Conor McGregor is presumed to return to the octagon at UFC 300. The MMA community highly anticipates his return. In the recent past, McGregor slid into the DM’s of Claressa Shields. It was to provide MMA tips to Shields, who is dabbling in MMA and her successful boxing career.
McGregor recently coached in the Ultimate Fighter Season 31 against Michael Chandler. There has not been any official confirmation, but it is presumed that he will compete against Chandler at UFC 300. McGregor recently shared a short clip of his intense training session on Instagram. Shields was very much impressed by the video. She reposted the video on her Instagram story. This is what she captioned the story.

McGregor shared it on his Instagram story, captioning it ‘GWOAT.’ Claressa Shields is often described as the ‘GWOAT’ of boxing. Shields is a two-time Gold medalist in the women’s middleweight division. Turning pro, she is a three-division champion, of which she became undisputed champion in two divisions and unified champion in the other.
McGregor was one of the fighters who were in Riyadh to watch the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. There at an interview, he expressed interest in fighting at UFC 300 or even sooner. His coach, John Kavanagh did an interview with Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour. In the interview, Kavanagh insinuated that the UFC is looking to book McGregor for the Summer.
Conor McGregor inboxed Claressa Shields after she re-signed with the PFL
Claressa Shields is one of the most recognizable names in women’s boxing. Her decision to pursue MMA was met with applause from the MMA community. There are many instances of MMA fighters crossing over to boxing. A recent example is the boxing bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury. However, very few boxers have tried their hands at MMA.
Shields, at present, has a 1-1 record in MMA. She competed twice at PFL in 2021. Shields won her debut by TKO but lost her next bout via split decision. She resumed her boxing career after the loss. However, in August of 2023, she announced that she re-signed with the PFL in a multi-fight deal.
Many MMA fighters congratulated Shields on her decision. Cris Cyborg and Conor McGregor even sent DM’s for support. Moreover, Conor McGregor even provided some useful tips for MMA. McGregor began his combat sports career through boxing. Furthermore, he boxed the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr in what was his 50th professional boxing fight.
