Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather was one of the biggest boxing fights and PPV events in recent years. The highly anticipated crossover fight between the undefeated boxing legend and the UFC superstar enticed fans from both sports. Furthermore, Mayweather ultimately won the fight in the 10th round via TKO. Mayweather’s experience and boxing prowess played a significant role in the outcome.


Conor McGregor started the fight strong, but Mayweather’s superior boxing skills became more evident as the rounds progressed. The referee stopped the fight when McGregor appeared fatigued and took significant hits. McGregor’s boxing coach, Phil Sutcliffe, recently revealed an intriguing prediction. Furthermore, in an interview with talkSPORT, Sutcliffe said the Irishman had a lot of potential as a young fighter. This is what he said:

Similarly, Sutcliffe stated that McGregor looked much more dangerous than anyone thought he would be in the fight. However, when McGregor started to tire, Mayweather took advantage and knocked him out in the 10th round. Regardless, Sutcliffe felt that McGregor was the toughest opponent that Mayweather fought.

Furthermore, Sutcliffe believed that McGregor’s fighting style and pressure were a perfect weapon against Mayweather’s defensive, cautious boxing style. Hence, Sutcliffe stated that McGregor would easily win against Mayweather if they ever fought again, and he would like to be in McGregor’s corner.


Conor McGregor hints at a rematch against Floyd Mayweather

McGregor recently teased on X that he could face retired boxing star Floyd Mayweather Jr. again in a boxing match. The two had a professional boxing match in August 2017, which Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round.

Furthermore, Mayweather has reignited his rivalry after his recent sphere of unimpressive exhibition fights. In addition, McGregor uploaded a sparring video of himself and stated that he played ping-pong with Mayweather. Subsequently, McGregor stated that in their rematch, he would have a similar fighting style combined with powerful shots. McGregor also said that he planned on winning his potential rematch via KO.

After McGregor said he was ready to fight Mayweather again, many people were mad at him and wanted him to focus on returning to the UFC. But then he posted another tweet, saying he’s getting closer to his comeback fight.
