Conor McGregor took the MMA scene by storm with his charisma and skill. He singlehandedly made the sport popular. He recently announced his comeback at the International Fight Week PPV on June 29. Now, he took an unconventional method to approach his comeback against Michael Chandler.

In a recent Instagram story, McGregor shared images of him and his son, Conor Jr., watching past knockout victories of the Irishman. The father and son were at their private home theatre. McGregor has already started to train his eldest son. The video of the training went viral on social media. McGregor recently announced the birth of his fourth child, Mack. Moreover, his daughter Croia Mairead recently celebrated her 5th birthday recently.

McGregor’s decision to involve his son in his professional career is strange. Many professional fighters do not want their offspring to take the same route. McGregor’s rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov does not want his sons to follow in his footsteps. Like everything else, their choice of parenthood is also different. However, the rivals share a deep love for their respective families.

McGregor had one of the best runs in the UFC’s featherweight division. He is 7-0 in the featherweight division with six finishes and six post-fight bonuses. Max Holloway is the only fighter who went the distance with McGregor at featherweight. McGregor got injured midway through the fight with Holloway.

Conor McGregor has fought only 14 times in the UFC. Half of those fights were in the featherweight division, where he is undefeated in the UFC. Moreover, of McGregor’s eight finishes in the UFC, six were at featherweight. Recently, McGregor showed his early knockouts in the UFC which were mostly at featherweight.

McGregor made his debut in the UFC against Marcus Brimage in a featherweight bout in April 2023. He followed it up with a decision victory over Max Holloway in a fight where he injured his ACL. McGregor returned back in style with a first-round finish over Diego Brandao and Dustin Poirier in a span of 4 months.

The Irishman’s next fight was against Dennis Siver, where he disposed of his opponent in the second round and thereby earned a title shot. However, champion Jose Aldo was injured, and McGregor would fight Chad Mendes in an interim title fight. After a second-round dispatch of Mendes, McGregor would go on to claim the undisputed title with a 13-second knockout of Aldo.
