Even though UFC superstar Conor McGregor has expressed his dislike of the WWE and its superstars, it looks like he has finally gained interest. McGregor is known for his colorful and active Twitter presence. He recently posted photos of himself in an Irish outfit, pitching an idea to the WWE. Conor McGregor wanted to play a character and wrote the character’s entire storyline.
The Irishman took to Twitter, describing his potential WWE character, Ron McMahon, the abandoned son of WWE chairman Vince McMahon. McGregor had a whole backstory planned up for his character as well. He said, “The babyface boss, Ron McMahon. I specialize in ambush and power control. Abandoned by the family in Ireland but made my own fortune brewing alcohol. And now I’m back. And boy, am I pissed”. Both McGregor and McMahon have Irish ancestry in their lineage.
McGregor has been increasingly open about his interest in WWE in recent months. He called out WWE superstar Roman Reigns on Twitter in May 2023. He also stated that he would like to face The Undertaker. McGregor has criticized new WWE superstars for not bringing in the star power compared to older generations. The Irishman also has a lot of respect for WWE legend Ric Flair.
The possibility of McGregor going to the WWE has increased due to the UFC-WWE merger. It is unknown whether McGregor will ever join WWE, but he has the potential to become a major star in the industry. He is a charismatic and captivating figure with a successful track record in combat sports.
