Conor McGregor has taken to social media to address recent criticisms from Dana White regarding a unique coaches challenge on TUF. White, who usually enjoys this part of the show, expressed frustration with the production team’s decision to have McGregor and Michael Chandler answer trivia questions in an ice bath, calling it a “huge f*cking clusterf*ck.”
Responding to White’s comments, McGregor conveyed his appreciation on Twitter. He assured White that the production team was competent and thanked him for his concern. He tweeted, “The production team was absolutely fine and quite awesome, actually! No issues at all. Thanks to Dana for checking in! Sending love from the tub. Watch @UltimateFighter on @espn!”
McGregor and Chandler were tapped as coaches for TUF season 31. The duo recently signed off their final episode. The series continues to air and will do so until August 15. Traditionally, coaches engage in a post-season octagon face-off. But speculation grew due to McGregor’s absence from the USADA drug testing pool after his injury at UFC 264 in July 2021.
While typically a more relaxed segment, the coaches’ challenge took an intense turn as the production team subjected the fighters to an ice bath with trivia questions. With the water temperature at 39 degrees Fahrenheit, the challenge posed some risk. Dana White’s robust reaction reflects his disappointment. This was in contrast to McGregor’s tweet aimed at alleviating concerns and asserting no issues with the challenge.
Dana White addresses rumors regarding Conor McGregor’s return fight with Michael Chandler
Recent exchanges between McGregor and Justin Gaethje fueled speculations about future matchups. However, Dana White clarified that McGregor is set to battle Michael Chandler for his return fight to the UFC.
Dana White spoke on Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC m He stated, “He’s ready to fight. I told him, ‘Get in shape and let’s work this out”. The UFC President addressed the rumors of McGregor ditching Chandler for Justin Gaethje. ” ‘Yep, he’s up against Chandler. Conor enjoys messing with everyone, especially potential opponents.”
As the TUF season unfolds, fans eagerly anticipate McGregor’s return to the octagon to face Chandler. Despite uncertainties surrounding McGregor’s injury and drug testing situation, the impending showdown adds excitement to TUF season 31.
