Charles Oliveira claimed that fighting Conor McGregor would be his first choice because “fighting Conor is incredibly profitable” in an interview with ESPN Brazil. On May 7, Oliveira defeated Justin Gaethje via submission in the opening round of a lightweight title match, although the title was left unclaimed because of Oliveira’s weight reduction. Contrarily, McGregor is the most well-known combatant in the annals of mixed martial arts, and his fights are the most lucrative.

 Recently, Olivera told ESPN MMA, when asked about the McGregor fight, he stated,” It would put a lot of money in my pocket, and [at this moment] that’s the most important thing. And it would also be really good for my legacy, for me to have in my story. Regardless, if he’s coming from defeat or not, he’s a guy who’s made history, so I think it would be great, but it’s not just up to me. If it were up to me, this fight would already be happening.”

Regardless of weight class, Alexander Volkanovski, in the opinion of Eugene Bareman, solidified his position as the finest fighter in the world at UFC 276. In his trilogy match against Max Holloway over the weekend, Volkanovski put on a masterful performance, stopping the former champion after five rounds.

Even Volkanovski’s own coaches were surprised by the performance’s level of domination, and today, head coach Eugene Bareman who stated to Submission Radio, “As much as I’ve gotten to know Alex over the years, the guy could still have a performance like that and still leave me gob-smacked. I’m like, wow. Just when you think he’s good and he’s at his best, he finds another level. And just, what a masterclass. Like, respectfully, if that’s not the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, then I don’t know who is.”
