Away from active fighting status, Conor McGregor has spent some 29 to 30 months on the shelf. CEO and top honcho, Dana White recently had a chance to speak on the delay. White bizarrely deflected, responding that money complicates things. Consequently, things are in motion to add more to his woes, as the Dubliner is now Hollywood’s highest-earning debutant, passing a record of the $20 million/movie-earning Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Already one of the richest combatants in history, McGregor recently put Hollywood on alert. Attributing to his ‘mind-blowing’ work with actor Jake Gyllenhaal in his upcoming movie.
According to a press release, a new version of the 1989 film “Road House” starring Patrick Swayze has Gyllenhaal in the lead role, and McGregor serves as his “nemesis,” named “Knox.” With both of them going into heavy blows. ‘The Notorious’ recently dazzled the fight bubble with his raw rigor in the trailer. And he continues to do so yet again. “Road House,” hits Prime Video soon, and ahead of the premiere, the promotional push continues.

After the release of official posters of Gyllenhaal, Conor McGregor, and rapper Post Malone as an MMA fighter, additional promo images have set out to wow fans. Concurrently, one sees McGregor do a neck-drag-down (a custom drag-down wrestling stint) on the protagonist. This was my McGregor’s account (@TheNotoriousMMA).
A prime reaction on X thus quipped – “RKO out of nowhere from Mcgregor;” a direct inference to WWE’s Randal Keith “Randy” Orton, inspired from the likes of John Laurinaitis‘s “Ace Crusher” and Diamond Dallas Page‘s “Diamon Cutter”. The move-set is a famed affair. And fans have reacted to it as such.
Fight fans react to special move by Conor McGregor in promo push for new movie
When combat sports cultures intertwine fans get excited. Michael Chandler recently called out rival, Conor McGregor in a full WWE-esque promo at Anaheim. WWE COO, Paul “Triple H” Levesque later broke the silence on Michael Chandler and his callout after the UFC 300 snub.

Yet again, McGregor shines in a cross-culture outcome that wowed the combat bubble. His new movie with Jake Gyllenhaal – “Road House”, has a UFC element, with several scenes shot live during the weekend of UFC 285. Gyllenhaal plays an apparent washed-out fighter who crosses paths with the Irishman. With the subsequent fighting in-universe, McGregor even recently quipped about it to his co-star.
Now they have gone viral once again, with McGregor executing the famous WWE “RKO outta nowhere” move. And here’s how fans reacted to it –
Rated-RKO was a professional wrestling tag team in the promotion, consisting of Randy Orton, Edge (Adam Copeland), and Lita (Amy Christine Dumas). “Legend killer” Orton later adopted it as the name of his signature finisher.
Consequently, unlike Orton’s drag-down and drop to the mat, this only shows a painful chokehold to Jake Gyllenhaal. However, that has garnered quite a few pumped-up reactions. Some have instigated that McGregor would soon take over Hollywood.
Others have quipped that he is just flaunting his new move-sets after receiving his Jiu-jitsu black belt. Some others have yet again pitched his move to politics, an idea the fighter himself has flirted with recently. All in all, the matter has only boosted McGregor in the minds of his fans.
