Conor McGregor’s manager has provided us with the latest updates on the health of his client and the timeline for his return. As most MMA fans know, the Irish superstar has been out of action throughout the last year since he broke his foot in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

Conor has since then promised a return to the Octagon but recent developments surrounding him receiving a move role along with rumored boxing appearances, a lot of that has been called into question. Thankfully the most reliable source of news regarding McGregor apart from Conor himself, his manager Tim Simpson provided us with all the updates we needed regarding the former two-weight champion.

Simpson has been a member at Paradigm Sports since 2015 and currently handles high-profile fighters like Israel Adesanya and McGregor himself. In a recent interview with MMA junkie, he made clear of the foggy situation surrounding McGregor’s return.

Firstly he clarified that while not fully healed, McGregor was to training like he did before the leg break, often training twice a day. However, to kill time during this recovery process, McGregor took up a side gig in Hollywood as he stars in the upcoming remake of “Road House” starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

“Acting was not something that was in the forefront of his mind right now, that’s still being a world-class athlete and focusing on being the best fighter in world”, said Simpson as he explained that if Conor wanted he could pack his bags a hitch a ride to Hollywood at this very stage in his career.

When asked about if the shoot would affect the timeline he had in mind for a UFC return, Simpson said certainly not, as McGregor was planning a ” Huge return for next year” while also mentioning that Conor had been training twice a day with his entire team being present right from his boxing coaches to his physio and nutrition guys.

Simpson also revealed that Conor is yet to decide what weight he will return at, as many feel he would only be able to make the cut down to welterweight with his current physique. When it came to deciding who he would face in his return, Simpson revealed that it’s based on circumstances highlighting, “Conor has never turned down a fight”

Lastly he was also asked if the next two fights would be the last for McGregor under the UFC banner since he only had two fights left on the contract, a question Simpson felt remained better unanswered.
