Cory Sandhagen spoke to the media ahead of UFC 292 and didn’t mince words about “Suga” Sean O’Malley’s view of professional MMA. Sandhagen is a purist when it comes to MMA. On the other hand, O’Malley sees MMA as a means of making money.

Sandhagen addressed Marlon “Chito” Vera and Sean O’Malley fighting for the title if both are victorious at UFC 292. He replied, “That’s some weak sauce man,” in response to O’Malley’s plan of defending the title against “Chito” in December. Sandhagen outclassed Vera when they met each other in the octagon in San Diego this year. Cory Sandhagen viewed Sean O’Malley’s plan as an insult to top-ranked contenders like Merab Dvalishvili and himself.

Sandhagen injured his triceps in his last outing in the octagon against Rob Font. As a top contender in the bantamweight division, Sandhagen came in as a guest for UFC 292, headlined by Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley. Sandhagen answered a wide variety of questions from the media. “The Sandman” was asked to predict the upcoming pay-per-view headliners, to which Sandhagen insinuated the champion would retain the belt. Sandhagen’s criticisms are mainly directed at O’Malley’s strategy of fighting the worst guy for the most money. Sandhagen is a believer in fighting all the most challenging opponents possible.

Sandhagen’s latest injury has now sidelined him for eight months. In his latest fight, Sandhagen outclassed Rob Font with grappling after tearing his triceps. His layoff came in as a blessing in disguise, as he will be tying the knot in September. The bride is none other than his girlfriend of five years, Erica Ueda. Ueda is a Recovery Specialist and started dating “The Sandman” in 2018.

Corey Sandhagen is marrying Erica Ueda on September 1. Sandhagen spoke to the media about his injury, and a media member asked about the marriage. Sandhagen believes he would remove the brace on his right hand before tying the knot. He vowed that he would be taking marriage pictures without the braces.

Sandhagen’s bride-to-be Erica Ueda met Sandhagen in 2018. Ueda is a Recovery Specialist who started her professional career in 2015. Ueda has supported Sandhagen throughout his fighting career.

Sandhagen’s return to the octagon after marriage would most likely be for the bantamweight title. If not, it would be for a fight against Merab “The Machine” Dvalishvili. There is also a possibility to fight Sterling if he wins at UFC 292.
