Dan Hardy trusts Paddy to surpass Conor in every aspect
Paddy Pimblett in the O2 has been the closest we’ve got to witness the level of Hype around a fighter since pre-2015 Conor McGregor. UFC vet Dan Hardy however believes that in time, his fellow Englishman will surpass the Irish Superstar in terms of popularity.
With his most recent fight against Jordan Leavvit, Paddy now has a clean 3-0 record in the UFC, all three wins have come via a finish and with every move Paddy makes, the crowd in the arena seems to erupt alongside him.
The last time the UFC witnessed this amount of fanfare around a fighter was when Conor McGregor was on his warpath to the featherweight title. However, ex-UFC commentator, Dan Hardy believes Paddy has the potential and all marketability required to surpass that.

Dan Hardy Firmly believes Paddy Pimblett will be a champion
Talking with Ariel Helwani on the MMA hour, Hardy was detailing about the route Pimblett should take in order to make sure he ends up as champion one day as he believes that, “He’s in a position where he can be way more than a Conor McGregor. “
When questioned By Helwani if he truly believes that, Hardy expanded on how people’s brands change and hence the fan’s loyalties towards them do too.
“Conor’s not the same, it’s not as easy to gravitate towards as he used to be in the beginnings of his career, it’s much more easy to relate to people when they’ve stepped off the street and they’re going through hard times, now he’s living in yachts, “ said Hardy as he explained that he feels McGregor’s completely estranged from his fan base.
“I think people will follow Paddy to a much longer degree because I don’t think Paddy’s going to fall of in the same way that Conor did and find himself in hand cuffs” said Hardy alluding to McGregor’s multiple arrests and his belief that Paddy wouldn’t turn that way, thanks to an ensemble team around him.
Hardy then went on to say, McGregor’s career should be seen as a blueprint for Paddy only in the sense that if you’re marketable, the UFC will find you a favorable path to the title even in one of the UFC’s toughest divisions.
