“Covington is the champion” – Dana White believes Colby Covington would ‘dominate’ UFC welterweights under these circumstances

Kamaru Usman has successfully built his legacy of being one of the most dominant welterweights in the history of UFC. The fighter is currently close to entering all-time UFC ‘Greatest of all debate’. The ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ is undefeated in UFC and has destroyed everybody he faced inside the octagon. As the pound-for-pound ranked #1 fighter, Usman has defended his title five times and is still going.
On the other hand, Colby Covington is the perfect nemesis of Usman and both share one of the most brutal rivalries in the promotion. The pair have faced each other twice and Covington has lost on both occasions. However, Covington himself has an impeccable UFC career so far. The fighter has fought some of the best welterweights in recent times and has won convincingly. It just shows how good Covington is and what he could have achieved if there was no Kamaru Usman.

“Including Colby Covington”- White comments on Kamaru Usman’s dominance on UFC welterweights
Dana White recently answered some questions from the media at the Dana White Contender Series press conference
In the event, White was asked several questions regarding Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington. While talking about them, UFC president explained that Usman is the best because he has beat everybody twice and that includes Covington. White revealed that no matter what people say about the ‘Chaos’ he is one of the best fighters in the promotion. According to White if Usman did not exist in the UFC, Covington surely would have been the welterweight champion. He said :
“These guys have had two shots at him(Usman) everybody including Colby Covington. Who, whatever you think about Colby Covington, whatever you want to say about him, if Kamaru Usman doesn’t exist Colby Covington is the champion and dominates that division.”
Covington has shown from time to time that he is a fighter with a huge temperament and skillset. Despite his cocky personality and extreme trash-talking it is pretty sure that he would definitely be a great champion.
