UFC President Dana White was bewildered by Israel Adesanya’s shocking loss at UFC 293. White recalled the moments after the fight when he immediately approached Adesanya in the octagon. Dana asked Adesanya if he was okay. Adesanya responded, “I’ll talk to you later.” This left White with even more questions than answers.

Adesanya’s backstage appearance after the fight sent shockwaves through the MMA world. However, instead of dwelling on the loss, Adesanya chose brevity when addressing the reporters present. He stated that he had a different plan for this but acknowledged the curveballs life throws at one. Regardless of the outcome, I wasn’t planning to say much. Adesanya revealed that he had planned to speak less regardless of winning or losing. He addressed Strickland as the better man that night.

Adesanya expressed his wish to be with his team, and people who care about him. Israel Adesanya quickly handed over the press conference duties to his coach, Eugene Bareman. Bareman promptly suggested an immediate rematch to correct the mistakes made against Strickland.
