Dana White is a pioneer of the sport of MMA. He has witnessed the rise and fall of many fighters in the UFC. Robbie Lawler is one fighter that rose and fell multiple times throughout his career. However, it appears Lawler is approaching the end of his fighting days.

Dana White took to Twitter to announce Lawler’s final fight. He wrote, “I found Robbie Lawler when he was 19 years old, and UFC 290 will be final fight of his amazing 22 year career.” He will take on Niko Price in a three-round welterweight bout. Lawler fought over 40 professional bouts in his career.

He made his UFC debut in the early days of Dana White’s reign as the company president. During his UFC debut, he was 19 years old and had an iconic fight with Nick Diaz in 2004. However, he left the company in 2004 to fight in other promotions. However, he came back to the UFC in 2013 with a vengeance.

Robbie Lawler had a three-fight winning streak and challenged Johnny Hendricks for the vacant title. However, he lost the fight via decision. He put on another two-fight winning streak and defeated Hendricks in a rematch. He defended the title twice before losing the title to Tyron Woodley. He will look to spend more time with his wife and children in his retirement days.

International Fight Week is the ‘Wrestlemania weekend’ of the UFC. Legends of sport enter the Hall of Fame during the week. UFC will also put on the best possible fights of the year. Dana White announced fights for the UFC 290 card in Las Vegas for International Fight Week.

White announced the return of college wrestling superstar Bo Nickal for the PPV card. Middleweight contenders Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis will collide in a title-eliminator bout. Former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo will return to fight after a long absence.

UFC 290 will feature the title unification bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Yair Rodriguez. Yair will look to dethrone the longtime featherweight champion in a five-round affair.
