Dana White revealed exciting news about Conor McGregor fighting in 2023. Recently, White attended the UFC Vegas 73 post-fight press conference, where he gave an update on McGregor. Now he is waiting to announce his star’s comeback officially.
Dana White has put on the biggest fights possible in 2023. Conor McGregor fighting in 2023 would add to the phenomenal success of UFC in 2023. Conor has recovered since suffering a leg injury against Dustin Poirier in 2021. There are still many doubts about McGregor’s return, as he has to pass the drug test. However, White is not fazed by it, as he said McGregor is working towards it.
Dana said, “There is a fight. Well he has to get into the USADA pool first. He’s filling out the paperwork. I don’t know how soon that will be done or what’s going on with that. That’s his business that he’s handling with USADA. But it’s all in motion.” McGregor needs two negative drug test results to claim his eligibility as a fighter. However, White remains confident that an official announcement about the fight will happen in the coming months.
‘Notorious’ has not given his sample to the USADA testing pool since the last quarter of 2021. As per USADA guidelines, a returning fighter must be in the pool six months prior to his fight. The 53-year-old confirmed that McGregor would fight Chandler in a PPV main event.
Grant Dawson has doubts on the plans of Dana White

As witnessed in the TUF trailer, a verbal fight broke out between McGregor and Chandler. The Ultimate Fighter 31 features Conor and Michael as the main attraction. After eight years, McGregor returns to the show in its 31st season. Earlier, in 2015, he coached the TUF opposite Urijah Faber. However, a UFC fighter did not think that the Chandler vs. McGregor fight would not happen.
Grant Dawson thinks that this is it for McGregor and Chandler. Dawson told MMA Junkie, “I’m telling you right now that the Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor fight is not going to happen.” He added that he is not expecting a fight this year as McGregor is not in the testing pool.
Grant Dawson thinks that Dana White’s booking of a Chandler vs. McGregor fight will backfire as there are too many obstacles. Only time will tell if the UFC and Dana White successfully books the fight.
