“You Don’t give a Sh*t”- Dana White has an intense exchange with a reporter who mentioned Henry Cejudo
Cejudo and White at UFC 249
It is not a secret that Dana White and Henry Cejudo are on less than cordial terms with each other. At UFC 280’s post-fight presser, White was asked a question by a reporter, hinting towards Cejudo without explicitly saying so, White’s reaction was less than pleasing.
Dana White had front-row seats when Cejudo decided to retire out of nowhere at UFC 249, shortly after beating Dominick Cruz. Cejudo leaving, led to title vacancies in two separate divisions, always a hassle to sort out, more so, with the threat of the company entirely stopping its events in light of the pandemic restrictions.
After his victory over TJ Dillashaw, the current champion Aljamain Sterling was quick to call out the Olympic gold medalist for his next title fight. White was asked about the future of the title, hinting at a return for Cejudo, however, his answer displayed a passive-aggressive White, wishing he’d been asked anything but. “He just fought 25-minutes ago, I have no idea, “ said White as he asked the reporter what he’d want to see.
When the reporter insisted that he just wanted the president’s opinion on the bantamweight division, White cut to the chase and asked, “About Henry Cejudo? That works? You like that?” prompting a soft, “Maybe” from the reporter. To this White responded, slightly losing his cool, “You don’t give sh*t? Why you asking me if you don’t give a sh*t”, as he went on to shame the reporter for wasting his question.
Later on, White would tell another reporter that he would certainly look into Cejudo’s return, confirming with a member of his staff about the duration for which Cejudo has been under the USADA testing pool.
What are the issues between Dana White and Henry Cejudo?
White and Cejudo have a contentious relationship at best. While things remained cordial publicly, there have always been slight grumblings from Cejudo about his pay and future opportunities with the company.
If fact it was believed by many fans that the sole reason for Cejudo’s retirement was so that he could leverage into a deal that pays him more. Ultimately there were no offers from White for the Olympian to make his return.

Earlier during the year, White was very hostile to the discussion of Cejudo and Volkanovski meeting in a bout for the featherweight championship. White would dismiss the idea, stating it to be, “f**** silly conversation”
Cejudo has now been out of action for over two years and has repeatedly expressed an interest in making his return to the Octagon. With his 6-month USADA testing pool mandate met, do you think Cejudo competes in the UFC within the next year?
