Dana White, the UFC CEO, has had his fair share of fighters whom he disliked. On top of the list was Tito Ortiz. White has expressed his displeasure for the former champion on multiple occasions. Their beef reached the point that the UFC CEO agreed to fight him inside the ring in 2007. However, the fight never materialized.
White looked at the potential matchup and gave his thoughts on who would’ve won. In his recent appearance on The Rush Podcast, Dana White predicted the outcome of his rumored Tito Ortiz fight. As such, he remained supremely confident in beating Ortiz in a boxing match. Here is what Dana said:
Well, it was supposed to be a boxing match. It ends badly for Tito Ortiz in a boxing match. If it was MMA, it would be the first death in MMA. Tito Ortiz would’ve killed me.

According to Dana White, he and Tito Ortiz were set to fight in a boxing match in 2007. However, the former champion didn’t show up. But Ortiz had discarded this claim of the UFC CEO and stated he never signed a contract to fight him. However, in the podcast, Dana White stood with his claim and allegedly detailed instances of Ortiz trying to find a way out.
Although White hasn’t fought competitively, he has a boxing background and trained in combat in his early days. As such, he was confident he could beat Tito Ortiz, who was predominantly a wrestler. Anyway, the fight didn’t come to fruition. Currently, White has established himself as one of the successful businessmen, and Ortiz has ventured into politics and served as the Mayor of Huntington Beach.
The two side stories of Dana White vs. Tito Ortiz
Dana White and Tito Ortiz verbally agreed to fight in a boxing contest in the squared circle in 2007. However, the fight never saw the light of the dawn despite the UFC CEO making weight for their bout. So, he claimed Ortiz never showed up as he was ‘scared’ and pulled out of the fight. But the former champion has a different tale to tell.

Years after the beef with Dana White, Tito Ortiz opened up about his side of the story in the Chattin Pony podcast. He claimed he declined the fight since the UFC CEO didn’t offer him any money to fight him. Here is what he said:
It was supposed to be 50/50 on any money that was revenued from the fight, and when it came about for the contract to sign — and I’ve always signed a bout agreement for a fight I was doing — that wasn’t in it. I wasn’t making anything out of it. It was a lose-lose situation for me.

However, Dana White didn’t disclose any contractual disagreements and proceeded to weigh in. As such, the UFC CEO bashed Ortiz for not showing up. On the other hand, Ortiz blamed White for spreading false information. Even a documentary was released on Spike TV showcasing White’s preparation for the fight and Ortiz’s infamous no-show. However, there was no proof of both men’s claims, and the truth remained unknown.
