Dana White has pioneered the sport of MMA into a beloved spectacle across the world. After partnering with the Fertitta brothers, White became the president of the UFC. Slowly but steadily, he turned the UFC into a billion-dollar company. Luke Thomas is a veteran MMA journalist and fights analyst. He recently remarked on the profits generated by the UFC in 2022.

Luke Thomas said, “There is financial documents related to what the UFC made. They made $387 million in 2022 alone, profit. Folks are wondering what other promoters make. Matchroom is one of the biggest promotions in the sport, made $14 million in 2022. The UFC made more in 2022 than every MMA and boxing promoter combined. $387 million might be the most that any promoter in the history of combat sports ever made in a single calendar year.

The heavyweight champion in boxing wanted to fight UFC’s champion Jon Jones in a bout. After Joe Rogan commented that Jones would beat Fury in a fight, Tyson Fury spoke about a fight on social media. Dana White opened the door for Tyson Fury to fight Jones in the UFC.

He said, “Tyson and I have a good relationship. I like Tyson Fury. We can talk all we want. Tyson can talk, Jon Jones can talk, I can talk, we can all talk. Let’s do it. If Tyson is serious, and he wants to do it, listen, I got Floyd Mayweather to fight (Conor McGregor), and we paid Floyd. We got Floyd the number he wanted.

A potential Jones vs. Fury bout would mint at least a million PPV buys. White saw potential in the fight and offered to match Fury’s salary for the fight. However, the bout will not happen as Fury does not consider himself to be a cage fighter.
