UFC CEO Dana White announced title fights for the upcoming UFC PPV events in 2024. As such, he announced Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera for UFC 299 in March 2024. Now, he revealed the location of the fight to be Miami in a video on threads. ‘Suga’ was thrilled about Miami and shared his excitement with the fans on X.

Sean O’Malley’s fight with Marlon Vera was set up to avenge his only loss in his MMA career. They shared their first staredown in New York before UFC 295. As such, the buildup to the fight started months before their fight date. ‘Suga’ is a huge superstar of the UFC. Such that, Dana White mentioned that the faceoffs between O’Malley and Vera had 8 million views on his Instagram handle in just 24 hours. This proved O’Malley’s star power and the hype behind this fight.

Sean O’Malley shocked the world by beating Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292. He knocked out ‘The Funkmaster’ in the second round of their fight to become the UFC bantamweight champion. Soon after, he called out Marlon Vera in his post-fight interview.

Vera also fought on the same card against Pedro Munhoz and came out as a victor by a unanimous decision. This set up a grudge match between them.

Marlon Vera has a record of 21 wins and 8 losses and gets his first chance at the title against Sean O’Malley. This would be O’Malley’s first title defense. Also, it’s a great opportunity for him to avenge his only loss.

He lost to Vera back in UFC 252. With UFC returning to Miami for the event, UFC 299 would be a blast for the fans.

Dana White revealed UFC 299 featuring Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera in the main event takes place in Miami. The stakes are high as the bantamweight title is on the line.

Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera shared the octagon earlier at UFC 252. Which, Vera won the fight by first-round TKO. However, it was due to an injury that O’Malley suffered to his leg in the fight.
