There’s always been a running gag in combat sports circle with non-fight fans mistaking Dana White for Joe Rogan. Recent occurrences saw prolonging that gag to new hilarious heights. Now, another white, bald, robustious man gets into the mix – Howie Mandel. Mandel has a deep reverence for the businessman and CEO White. Concurrently, they seem to have a bit of history in recent memory.

The promotional taskmaster is akin to announcing key matchups via social media and IG Lives. However, he does engage in social media rounds and podcast appearances. Contrarily, White’s infamous walkout from ‘Howie Mandel Does Stuff‘ podcast was a stinger. But that does not mar their association a bit.

Sage Steele, former ESPN co-host of the noon (ET) SportsCenter, welcomed White to “The Sage Steele Show” podcast talking about UFC ‘s inception and Dana White. Before the historic tricentennial PPV card in April, White has been engaging in a lot of those recently. However, the segment sees Mandel gate crash and insert himself. White’s story precedes momentarily before Mandel joins in.

Seemingly, White can’t catch a break on his bald resemblance to him, or Joe Rogan. In the same statement, Steele had committed a hilarious all-time blunder by mixing him up with Joe Rogan. White’s story, and Mandel’s skit on entering as soon as he heard his name was part of that prolonged narrative. More to come on that front.

Dana White and Joe Rogan are both ruggedly, sure-tongued bald white men. With extensive and far-reaching affiliations to the combat sports culture. But that doesn’t make them the same person! Well, tell that to the veteran ESPN anchor Sage Steele who mistook them for the same.

Meanwhile, by White’s own account, people also mistake him for Howard “Howie” Mandel, the famous Canadian comedian and television entity. And to Mandel’s account on the “The Sage Steele Show” podcast, the interviewer often ends a segment by referring to him as “Joe Rogan”. A vicious cycle indeed.

“I used to think Joe Rogan and Dana White were the same person,” a fan account on X (@hamophobic) wrote in 2023. Another one (@tooflyboi) mentioned thinking the same. Users @nkateko_nkosi21, @manlikemoabbii, @_Lubandz_, and @realsakbaby all followed suit. White cannot seem to escape these comparisons or the scope of them having a matchup together.

However, he seems to be taking it very jovially. Check out what he posted to his IG stories (@danawhite), poking fun at the matter:

The first of his IG stories have him stationed in his car, with the silhouette of his iconic bald head on the periphery. A cop car can be seen behind him. The caption jokingly has him hoping that they mistake him for Rogan. A subsequent one has Mandel, him, and Rogan, all three side by side in a spot-the-difference kind of situation which he reposted via his IG stories.
