“We’re f**kin’ in!” Dana White persuades Pat McAfee to do Live Show for UFC’s first-ever fight card in France
Pat McAfee- Dana White
UFC President Dana White is looking forward to encouraging his business’ growth by being willing to put big names at the forefront of the television’s success and there does exist a Sports TV personality’s name in his mind. White, who’s been the President of the world’s biggest MMA promotion, that’s the UFC itself since 2001, when Zuffa brought in the company, has made the sport grow from being a $2 million in 2001 to a $4.2 billion dollar market product in 2016 when UFC was brought again by WME-IMG.
The MMA fans have seen the highest degree of growth in the UFC since the onset of the pandemic back in 2020 when most of the major sports promotions ceased to work in the height of the global surge to cure Covid-19 and tend to bring things back to normal before continuing with live sports television. White, was of a different mentality altogether. He made sure that the live UFC events were accessible to all the fans even during the aforementioned time.
Dana White breaks the offer to Pat McAfee on the latter’s show
On the Pat McAfee show hosted by popular sports analyst Pat McAfee who works as a pro-wrestling colour commentator for WWE’s Smackdown brand, White talked about where else they’re heading for the first time after holding the first-ever PPV event in Asia with Singapore being the host of UFC 275 come this weekend. UFC 275 is headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between the champion Glover Teixeira and the challenger Jiri Prochazka.
“We’re going to Paris, France for the first time this year,” says White “You guys [telling McAfee and his crew] should do a live show from Paris, France for the UFC.” After a few seconds of discussion on the date of the event and if McAfee’s schedule matches, the sports analyst shouts “We’re f**kin’ in!”
How do you like the idea of McAfee being the voice of MMA? Do you think he can do par with or better than veteran sports personalities like Joe Rogan and Megan Olivi? Who do you think should White persuade purely from a sports entertainment point of view that can hype the sport up like no one else?
