Dana White has a special admiration for one among his vast security staff, namely Summer Tapasa. The Hawai Native recently celebrated her two year anniversary working for the promotion and White posted a video to commemorate it.
Tapasa was originally a worker at Best Buy in Hawaii when she had to go through an experience most American retail workers have to go through, that of unruly patrons trying to steal from the business. However, unlike most workers, Tapasa did not mind getting her hands dirty to make sure a morally wrong act is not rewarded.
In a video that went viral on Twitter, Tapasa can be seen blocking away as she rammed into the customer who was trying to make a run for it after grabbing some brand new speakers from the store. She was successful in stopping the thief and even managed to walk out of it mostly unharmed. She would send the surveillance footage to her sister who then posted it on Twitter making it viral.

Among the many people who saw the video, notable among them was UFC Head, Dana White who shared the video himself and was viewed more than 7 million times. On finding out that due to Best Buys’ terms of policy, Tapasa had been fired from her job, White flew her out to watch the biggest MMA event of that year, UFC 246, the return of Conor McGregor.
What she did not know back then was along with the invite, came a job offer to work for Dana himself. Tapasa who lived her life in Hawaii had a few rough decisions to make when it came to moving to Vegas but was happy to work for the UFC considering the special invite from the Boss himself.

“Of course I wanted to work for him. Of course, I wanted to work for UFC. In my head, I already had it in mind that I wanted to move here and work for him, but the only hard part was my family. I’m with my husband here in Vegas, we live with some family here, so the transition wasn’t too bad, but my parents are my everything, and leaving them in Hawaii was the hardest part, “ Tapasa said of the entire experience of moving to Vegas in an interview to MMA Junkie
Dana posted a video to commemorate two years of Summer working for him where he can be seen hugging the security personnel as he expressed how surprised he still was about the fact that Tapasa was fired for basically doing her job. As Dana called her his “favourite security guard” Tapasa returned the favor saying, “The best boss ever, never complains, I love him, he loves me and I’m so grateful”
As she completed her sentence, White planted a kiss on her cheeks before ending the video. Tapasa has said in other interviews that while she is a fan of the UFC, it is her husband who has a greater love for the sport.
