“It may come off as chauvinistic…” – Dana White proudly claims female MMA fighters are equal to male MMA fighters

The UFC has seen massive growth in terms of success in the last decade. Dana White along with the UFC has grown a lot. The UFC boss went from not wanting women to ever step into the octagon to now promoting top female fighters in the UFC.
Fighting is popularly believed to be a man’s sport in the mainstream. Dana White is no different from anyone who lived through his time, the UFC president too did not want to see any women getting hit with elbows to their face inside the UFC octagon. However, everything changed as White began to see the potential for business among female athletes.
“You know, you see a woman on her back, taking elbows to the face, that she can’t defend, and she shouldn’t have even been in this fight…it’s rough to see,” said Dana White talking to Tucker Carlson of Fox News about women fighting in MMA.
“It comes off chauvinistic sometimes because we live in a day and age where women want to be equal. And believe me, when I tell you, women have proved here that they are equal,” added White as he exclaimed about how great the female fighters in the UFC are.

Tucker Carlson, who seems to be fairly new to the sport of MMA, was given an amazing answer to why White believes female MMA fighters are as good as male fighters. If you’re introducing someone to female fighters, there are very few fights that would top the Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Zhang Weili war.
“One of the greatest fights that you will ever see in your life is Weili Zhang vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk. And I don’t mean female fights, it is one of the greatest fights you will ever see is that fight. So they (women fighters) have absolutely proven themselves,” said the UFC president talking to Tucker Carlson of Fox News.
Weili and Joanna fought each other at UFC 248 in a stunning five-round co-main event fight. The fight went to decision after a brutal, bloody, dog fight in which the Chinese strawweight edged a decision victory. If you haven’t seen this fight, take Dana White’s word and watch it ASAP!
