After the death of the UK’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, Dana White, Tyson Fury and the combat sports world react to her death. The longest-reigning monarch died at the age of 96. Her reign lasted almost seven decades.
Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926 and became the apparent heir when her uncle Edward VIII was abdicated on Dec 11, 1936. She ascended the throne following the death of her father on Feb 6 1952 and was later crowned in 1953. She has been served by 15 Prime Ministers and her reign later for seven decades.
Yesterday, the royal family announced her death online stating that she had ‘died peacefully’. However, the announcement didn’t specify the cause of her death. She was placed under medical supervision at Balmoral for much of the summer. The longest reigning Monarch’s reign spanned generations and oversaw multiple major world events, including The Cold War and the United Kingdom’s transition from empire to the commonwealth to the Covid – 19 Pandemic.
The Queen was a cultural icon and widely beloved by British citizens. Her demise has brought up a state of mourning in the UK. Her passing is a significant moment not just in British but in world history. After the announcement by the royal family reactions from all around the world started pouring in.
