UFC commentator Daniel Cormier regrets doubting former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Cormier has extended a heartfelt apology in light of the ultimate crossover fight announcement against Tyson Fury. The two champions have amicably agreed to a contract and will face off later this October.
Ever since pulling his name out of the UFC, Francis Ngannou had remained without a contract agreement. This went on for nearly two years. In the meantime, the Cameroonian was highly criticized for his greedy demands. He was condemned for letting go of his UFC contract to pursue a career in boxing.
Skeptics believed that Ngannou would struggle to secure the dream megafight he had longed for. However, recent developments indicate that the 36-year-old has defied the odds and achieved his desired outcome. Daniel Cormier, who previously expressed his disapproval of Ngannou’s departure from the UFC, decided to share his perspective on the announcement. In a show of penitence, ‘DC’ apologized for doubting Ngannou and commended him for realizing the financial success he had always yearned for. Speaking on the DC & RC Show, Cormier stated, “First off, I’m sorry, Francis. I want to fumble your bag, too, Francis.”
Pointing at his co-host Ryan Clark Cormier said, “RC, can I ask you a question? Do you have to be a little bit naive to go out in that world like that and know your value to the point that you will even when it looked dark to stand on your loyal and go, ‘It’ll happen for me?’”. Acknowledging Ngannou’s unwavering determination and resilience, Cormier added, “Francis had just enough of that, and now he finds himself — he’s going to make more money than he ever could have imagined making in his entire life… Francis and Tyson Fury are going to make so much money, it’s cr*zy.”
