Cormier shared advice that Rogan helped him with

Daniel Cormier got some much-needed support and advice from his friend Joe Rogan Cormier has had his back against the wall ever since he started his career in MMA. A late bloomer, Cormier started his career only at the age of 30 and hence had to gain the respect of his colleagues the hard way. This is despite him being an equally and sometimes highly decorated combat athlete compared to one standing against him.

Before his retirement was closing in on him, Daniel Cormier started a smooth transition into broadcasting, many welcoming the move as a fighter’s perspective on the action would add a lot more intrigue to the broadcast. One problem many didn’t see coming was how Cormier’s personal bias would come into play while calling fights. This was seen when he would call the fights of his teammates at AKA.

Over time the criticism would build up on him with many complaining that the former two-division champ is too giggly on the broadcast. All this would culminate in a fellow broadcast teammate and former champion, Dominick Cruz accusing DC of not doing his homework (studying fights) before he appears on camera. While Cruz and Cormier would bury their differences his comments provided the fuel to light up the mob behind Cormier.

Now Cormier has received advice from a close friend who knows a thing or two about being in the spotlight to be criticized. Joe Rogan has been the red dot for criticism since his podcast has become a major opinion leader in the political space. Rogan advised his friend to not care about the criticism and just continue being himself if he wants to be successful himself.

“I know how much time I spend preparing for this. I know (what) I try to give these guys and tell their stories and do them justice.” Said the former double champion as he described the efforts he put in to bring the best version of himself he can as a broadcaster.
Cormier deflected the blame on the fans saying, “Sometimes, people just don’t see what you see and that’s really on them.”
