Demetrious Johnson on Henry Cejudo
Henry Cejudo is yet to make a comeback inside the octagon, but former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson believes he can once again become the bantamweight champion and can even defeat Alexander Volkanovski to become the featherweight champion. Henry is one of the best UFC fighters of all time and he has confirmed that he will return to the octagon this year.
Henry retired from UFC in 2020 after defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. However, earlier this year, his coach Eric Albarracin revealed Henry has re-entered the USADA drug testing pool and plans to compete in late august. Henry has been constantly calling out the current UFC Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and both even had a small back and forth on twitter.
While no fight has been yet confirmed for Henry, flyweight king Demetrious Johnson believes Henry will be a significant threat to Aljamain Sterling. He also claimed that Henry has what it takes to defeat the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Johnson said: “He’s intelligent, he’s an athlete–I mean, he’s done something I haven’t done. If he was to fight Aljamain Sterling, I think he poses a lot of problems to Aljamain Sterling because, one, his wrestling is legit, his hands are legit, and Henry Cejudo, he’s a gamer,”
“I have to be patient”- Demetrious Johnson reveals his game plan for his rematch against Adriano Moraes
Demetrious Johnson is widely regarded as one of the best MMA fighters of all time. Demetrious has an amazing MMA journey, and he has achieved a lot in his MMA career. Johnson is the former UFC flyweight champion and currently fights in ONE championship. Demetrious will face Adriano Moraes in a highly anticipated rematch in August and he plans to redeem himself after losing the first fight in 2021.
Adrano is the current ONE flyweight world champion, and he is the first person in the history to finish Johnson in a fight. Johnson now plans his revenge and revealed his game plan before of his fight in August. Talking with ONE, Johnson said: “I know I have to be patient. Before I fought Moraes, I watched his fights, and I thought, ‘Okay, he never really engages.’ He’s always used his movement or whatnot. And then, fighting him, I realized he really didn’t engage because I was chasing him the whole time.”
Johnson and Moraes will face each other on August 27 in Singapore. The fight would be challenging for Johnson because of Adrano’s fighting style, which is more tentative compared to Johnson’s. Despite the results, the fight is guaranteed to be a banger and would promise action inside the octagon.
