Dana White in his press conference after the UFC Vegas 67 Fight Night announced that Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane is official for UFC 285 at T-Mobile Arena on March 4th. Despite the biggest announcement made this year, Dana White is worried about what might happen towards the buildup of the fight due to Jon Jones’ past with Vegas.
Dana White confirmed that Francis Ngannou has now been stripped of his title and the fight between Gane and Jon Jones will be a championship bout. White was asked whether he’s confident there won’t be any mishaps surrounding Jones in Vegas. The UFC boss wasn’t too optimistic about that. “I still think the same thing. I agree, it’s not good,” said Dana at the post-fight press conference.
Even though having Jones back in the octagon is a treat for all the fight fans to see, everyone including the boss is worried about what might happen considering the misdemeanors in the past. Jon Jones had been arrested on grounds of domestic battery and violence hours after he was inducted into the UFC Hall Of Fame.
Fans can only hope that nothing goes wrong this time with Jon “Bones” Jones. Past that, seeing Jones fight for the belt yet again in the octagon is something fans have been waiting for, which will finally happen.
Dana White still feels that Las Vegas is not the best place for Jon Jones, despite him fighting there in March.

Jon Jones’ ugly past with Las Vegas

The former light heavyweight had been arrested in Las Vegas on the night he got inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. The night of celebration turned into a night of horrors for the fighter when he got arrested just hours after induction.
Jon Jones was getting inducted into the Hall of Fame for his classic fight against Alexander Gustaffson in 2012. But the night of celebrations and party soon turned into a traumatizing night when he got arrested for domestic battery violence and injuring and damaging a vehicle.
Jones has now been offered an 8-fight deal, where his first fight after a long time away is going to be for the UFC heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane for UFC 285 in Vegas. Let’s hope nothing goes wrong this time for the fighter and the fans get to see him having a long run of continuous and exciting fights.
