Jake Gyllenhaal‘s “Road House” sequel, featuring Conor McGregor, has faced a setback. The movie has failed to secure a theatrical release. This happened despite a special screening on Jeff Bezos’ yacht.
Amazon has decided not to release the movie “RoadHouse,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor, in theaters. Gyllenhaal’s team disagreed with the decision and organized a private screening for Amazon in response. Jeff Bezos was reportedly unimpressed, leading to the shelving of theater release plans.
The film is set to stream online instead. The private yacht screening did not sway Bezos, indicating a shift towards streaming platforms for the film’s release. Despite the disappointment, there is no information on alternative release plans for the future of the movie.
Conor McGregor’s new movie is a remake of the cult classic ‘Road House’ from 1989. McGregor plays the role of a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The movie is highly anticipated as it is McGregor’s acting debut alongside Holloywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

Although McGregor is currently without an official opponent, there is a consensus that he may face Michael Chandler on his return. The fight, originally rumored for December 2023, is now likely to occur in 2024.
Initially rumored for April, the date was later pushed back, and the July return has been finalized. This decision aligns with McGregor’s agent, Audie Attar’s, expectation of a 2024 comeback.
