Dominick Cruz recognizes Frankie Edgar as legend of MMA; says there’s no beef between them
In an interview with Dave Schmulenson aka THE SCHMO, Cruz talks about his next fight with Vera, his reaction to Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev fight announcement and much more. In the midst of all, Cruz also affirmed that he is open to Edgar’s challenge inside the Madison Square Garden as well.
“You know I wouldn’t say no to Frankie Edgar,” says Cruz “He’s a legend in the sport, he’s done a lot. You know you’re thinking about it, he’s done so much, you got these new up and comers that people don’t know him real well… so overtime, he just wants to fight somebody that’s known, that can get people to watch and I’ve been around for a long time, he’s been around for along time, so I know where it comes. Me and Frankie have always been cool. So I got no beef,” concluded Cruz.
What do you make of Cruz’s response to Edgar’s challenge? Do you like this fight to happen? Who do you think would win the fight if it happens? Edgar affirmed in his callout that this is going to be a legacy fight and therefore he has made the right call out. Case in point, both Cruz and Edgar were first time UFC champions around the same time.
