The ‘Real African’ rumble could ultimately end up in Australia. Dricus Du Plessis has confirmed his intentions to fight Israel Adesanya next. The fight against Israel Adesanya could likely happen at UFC 305. Perth, Australia is the reported destination of the PPV event in August. 

Dricus Du Plessis earned his UFC middleweight title by beating Sean Strickland at UFC 297. During his sabbatical, Israel Adesanya has talked about fighting for the title in his UFC return. Recently, Du Plessis made an Instagram post referencing plans to destroy Izzy in front of the Australian crowd again. This all but confirms the first opponent for DDP in his title defense.

Izzy’s last outing in Australia was nothing short of a nightmare. ‘The Last Stylebender’ lost his UFC belt and got outclassed by Strickland. Adesanya could not mount any offense and took a defensive approach the entire match. Similarly, Du Plessis would like to put Adesanya through a familiar memory if the rumors about UFC 305 remain true.

According to Helwani, despite all the back and forth, the UFC has not made any offer to any of the fighters’ teams. However, both parties remain interested in the bout.
