Two of UFC lightweight’s top contenders are on the same team and often train together. Dustin Poirier and Mateusz Gamrot are both part of the American Top Team. They recently shared a pic that has caught the attention of social media. Here is what happened:

Dustin Poirier shared a picture of him and Mateusz Gamrot in their training attire, dripping in sweat. Poirier is working hard for his upcoming showdown at UFC 299 and has even resorted to his older buzzed haircut. On the other hand, Gamrot will compete against legend Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 300. Poirier shared the picture on X and this is what he wrote:

Mateusz Gamrot is a Polish and competes in the UFC’s lightweight division. He currently ranks sixth in the UFC lightweight rankings. Gamrot has a record of 22 wins, two losses, and one no-contest. Meanwhile, Poirier is one of the top contenders in the lightweight division. He has a record of 29 wins, eight losses, and one no-contest. He is also a former interim UFC lightweight champion. Poirier currently ranks third in the UFC lightweight rankings.

Mateusz Gamrot had previously specified that he would only fight Dustin Poirier if it were for the lightweight title. Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier has an upcoming fight against Benoit Saint-Denis. It will be interesting to see if Poirier’s hard training with Gamrot bears fruit in the octagon.

Fans are definitely excited for Dustin Poirier’s upcoming fight. He and Benoit Saint-Denis will headline the co-main event at UFC 299. Benoit last fought Matt Frevola and knocked him out in the first round at UFC 295.. They will fight at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
