The lightweight division proves yet again why it is the most competitive in the UFC. Dustin Poirier is back on the grind and is ready for his next fight after getting a finish in his last bout. Poirier has constantly proved himself as one of the top fighters in the entire UFC roster but is yet to become a champion.

After his loss against Justin Gaethjhe, ‘The Diamond’ bounced back in his last fight and KOed Benoit Saint-Denis in the second round at UFC 299. This gave Poirier a lot of confidence, followed by his call-out to Islam Makhachev for the title shot. Dustin Poirier recently took to Instagram to share a picture of him inside a gym. The fighter was in training clothes ready to get into a tough session.

Looks like it's back to work.

After the call-out, The Dagestani didn’t shy away and roasted Poirier for losing multiple opportunities to get his hands on the title. ‘The Diamond’ has fought for the lightweight title twice in his career and got submitted both times. Irrespective of having an incredible MMA career, the Louisiana native would like to have the champion status before retiring.
