“Are u liberating twitter” – Elon Musk’s private texts with Joe Rogan leaked in public amidst the Twitter court case
Rogan shared a clip of him discussing AI with Elon Musk
Elon Musk, probably one of the most influential businessmen of this generation, doesn’t share the typical stereotypes as his contemporaries. Other than his achievements in automobile and space exploration Musk is known for openness, a sense of humour and being active on Twitter.
Musk has a great relationship with UFC colour commentator Joe Rogan and has appeared on his podcast thrice in the past. Recently, Musk tried to buy Twitter and a whopping $44bn deal was proposed. However, the Tesla CEO pulled out of the deal when Twitter didn’t give information about the number of fake and spam accounts on the platform. Now Twitter is suing Musk for backing out and ruining the company’s reputation.
During the court, Musk’s private chats got leaked and it contained his conversation with Rogan.
“Are you going to liberate Twitter from the censorship happy mob?,” Rogan asked Musk in their chat.
To which Musk replied, “I will provide advice, which they may or may not choose to follow.”
The UFC commentator was excited for Musk to buy Twitter and take out censorship and he suggested throwing a party. He said: “I REALLY hope you get Twitter. If you do, we should throw a hell of a party.”
“Why throw a party when you can have a Pajama Jammy Jam?,” Musk replied with equal enthusiasm. Rogan and Musk speak highly and have a lot of respect for each other. The pair also share a lot of similar views on censorship and social media.
“Concerned about censorship”- Joe Rogan backs Elon Musk’s ideas about freedom of speech
Joe Rogan has always supported anti-censorship and the freedom to say things without worrying about getting cancelled. That’s exactly what Rogan has always done and he stands for it. When Musk was about to buy Twitter, Rogan encouraged the idea.
In one of his episodes of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience with Duncan Trussell, Rogan shared his views on the Tesla head.
He said: “I think he [Musk] does care. He does, genuinely. He’s concerned about censorship. He said freedom of speech is someone you don’t like saying something you don’t wanna hear. He goes, ‘They have to have that right because it’s essential to a democracy.’ Most people objectively agree. The problem is they get scared because they see how mobs of people can move in a very negative direction. I think there’s a real concern.”
Rogan has been cancelled a lot of times on the internet for the things he has said in the past but that didn’t stop him from sharing his opinion. It makes sense why according to him, Musk’s plans of liberating Twitter is a great change.
