ESPN Hosts Stephen A Smith and Molly Qerim discuss what punishment their “friend” Dana White should receive after the recent viral video. Molly Qerim says that White should be given the benefit of the doubt after the latter’s apology.
Dana White has been in the news after a video of him slapping his wife went viral. White has always maintained that “No man should ever raise his hand against a woman“. But after this video, his ideals are under scrutiny.
“You do not raise your hand against a woman. And Dana White knows that. He has spoken against men who have. And whatever punishment that you would exact to somebody else, under these circumstances, he should apply to it himself,” said Stephen A. Smith. To this, his female co-host Molly Qerim says that she agrees to the punishment part, rather he should exact an even stricter one on himself considering he is the leader of an organization.
Molly Qerim also adds that seeing that it was an “isolated” incident and the couple was under the influence of alcohol, the UFC boss should be given the benefit of the doubt. “…Also his wife’s hands were on him. No one should be putting their hands on someone. Male-Female, Female-Male“, she adds. She says that even though she is a woman she realizes that no one should be able to hit anyone, even if they are a man or a woman.

Both the hosts do not believe in the “cancel culture”, as they believe a man shouldn’t be judged based on their worst moments. Also especially because White is their “friend” and they know that he would correct himself. Smith says that Dana has “crossed a line he never should”, and he knows that Dana will correct this mistake of his. He says that Dana owes it to his audience, to be honest, and forthcoming.
Ariel Helwani trashed Dana White after his slapping controversy
MMA journalist Ariel Helwani took to his MMA Hour talk show and trashed Dana White after the latter’s video of him slapping his wife on New Year’s eve went viral.
“What are your kids gonna say about you? What are your kids gonna say about your legacy? About the way, you treat your fighters. The way you treat your people. About your business practices. What are your kids gonna say about the video? About the kind of person you are? What are your kids going to say about you? Ask yourself the same f*cking question you asked me,” said Ariel Helwani in his rant.
The bad blood between Ariel Helwani and Dana White showed itself when Helwani crucified the UFC boss for the video. Seems like Ariel Helwani still holds a grudge against Dana for everything that has happened between them over the years.
