Colby Covington‘s comments about Leon Edwards‘ deceased father did not go well in the UFC community. Sean Strickland had a furious rant about Covington in the pre-fight press conference of UFC 296. Now, Jon Jones chimed in with his opinion in a now-deleted tweet.

Jones was a roommate of Covington when the two were in Junior College. They were good friends during their stay together. However, they are not on friendly terms anymore. Jones agreed with Sean Strickland’s remarks about Covington. This is what he tweeted.

Couldn’t agree with Strickland anymore Colby is by far the most heinous human being I’ve ever encountered in my life. I won’t even get into personal stories, he’s an absolutely terrible human being.”

Jones accused Covington of being a terrible human being. Covington does not have good things to say about Jones either. He has even accused Jones of using PEDs in college. Strickland, during his rant, alluded that Covington made enemies out of friends. In addition to Jones, Jorge Masvidal was also a friend of Covington before Covington turned heel.

Jones is presently nursing a pectoral injury. He was to headline UFC 295 before the injury happened. Now, the UFC plans to rebook the original UFC 295 headliner, Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic on Jones’ return. In the absence of the undisputed champion, Tom Aspinall defeated Sergei Pavlovich to win the interim heavyweight title.

Israel Adesanya furious against Colby Covington for controversial remarks

Israel Adesanya is a close friend of Leon Edwards. They have the same manager, Tim Simpson. Adesanya is also a very close friend of Colby Covington’s former foe, Kamaru Usman. So it came as no surprise to see Adesanya angered by Covington’s controversial remarks.

What he did today.. f*ck no, don't ever do that. That is not cool. I don't care who you are. I just think that was a low one, man. That was really low, yeah.
