Sergei Pavlovich fought Curtis Blaydes this past weekend at UFC Vegas 71. With the fight being a potential title shot eliminator, Sergei emerged victorious. After a brutal first-round knockout win against Blaydes, Pavlovich has made a new record in the UFC. He is the only fighter in UFC to finish his last six fights via first-round knockout. Due to his accolades, fans on Twitter argue that is whether Pavlovich is a better knockout artist than Francis Ngannou.

Sergei Pavlovich fights in a division where the margin of error is shallow. A single strike from anyone in the division can prove fatal to the fighter and turn the tides of the match. Pavlovich has had one loss against former UFC legend Allistair Overeem. Since then, the fighter has made the adjustments and gone on a six-fight winning streak. He has defeated big power punchers like Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa, and Tom Aspinall via first-round knockout. However, after his fight against Blaydes, Pavlovich proved that he can handle elite wrestlers as well.

This, however, raises a question of who is the better knockout artist between The Russian Hammer and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. During his days in the UFC, the predator was one of the most fearsome fighters on the roster. Ngannou has won five of his six fights via knockout. He might not have the best technique in the division, but the power behind his fists is destructive. In his last fight against Cyril Gane at UFC 270, Ngannou also proved that he could wrestle as well. While the fight did not end with a spectacular knockout, Francis amazed everyone with his wrestling skills.

With so many similarities between the fighters, fans gave their opinions on who they think is the better knockout artist.

Sergei Pavlovich recently came off a win against Curtis Blaydes at UFC Vegas 71. With a brutal first-round knockout, fans can expect Pavlovich to fight for the title next. During his fight against Blaydes, Pavlovich absorbed two heavy punches from the fighter and shrugged it off. He later delivered a barrage of punches to knock out Curtis, showing that Pavlovich also has a great chin. With his recent win, fans compare the better knockout artist between Pavlovich and Francis Ngannou and who would win in a fight.

Fans do believe Pavlovich is the better boxer but they also think that Francis has far more power behind his fists. A fan tweeted, “ Ngannou put people to sleep with one punch, Sergei put people to sleep with combinations. ” While this was the general opinion of many fans, some do believe Francis is not part of UFC so it does not make sense to compare him with Sergei.

Francis Ngannou has been stripped of his title and retired from UFC to try his hand at boxing. While there have been speculations about his next opponent, nothing is yet confirmed. As for the Russian Hammer, he is next in line for a title shot after his win over Blaydes. With Jon Jones fighting Stipe Miocic next, fans might be able to witness a fight between UFC’s new KO artist and Jones next.
