‘Where’s the freedom of speech, Dana?’ – Fans blast UFC for not uploading Luke Rockhold’s fiery press conference ahead of UFC 278
Luke Rockhold
Luke Rockhold has won the people’s hearts after his rather brave pre-fight press conference ahead of UFC 278. The former middleweight champ ripped the promotion apart with his “Fighter’s pay” rant and seems like the UFC isn’t that welcoming of criticism.
Another UFC event, and another fighter that has come out to criticize the company for the way it runs its business and treats its fighters. This time it is former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, who returns to the octagon after more than three years. Luke is fighting 31-year-old Paulo Costa on the main card and also attended the pre-fight media scrum to talk to reporters from several MMA outlets.
This will go down as one of the best pressers that Luke has ever done. It was a new version of Rockhold that was on display as the fighter was braver than ever. The middleweight is clearly unhappy with the way he is being treated by the promotion and went on an all-time rant. In the presser, Luke slammed the company for the fighter’s pay. Rockhold was very critical about the fighter’s bonus being the same for ages despite the profits gained by the company.
Luke is not the first fighter to come out and talk about the fighter’s pay publicly. He joins a long list of fighters that includes big names like Jon Jones, Francis Ngannou, and even his opponent, Paulo Costa. UFC and its president, Dana White is usually not one to back out from answering criticism but seems like the company has run out of patience. The promotion usually uploads all the pre-fight media scrum from the main card fighters but Rockhold’s can’t be found anywhere on the company’s official YouTube channel. Twitter user, Jed I Goodman was the first to point out this suspicious activity from the YouTube handle and MMA Twitter was split with their reactions to this.

Twitter explodes as UFC snub Luke Rockhold’s pre-fight media scrum from YouTube
Luke is coming off two consecutive devastating losses against Yoel Romero and Jan Blachowicz in his last two UFC fights. The long lay-off has helped Luke Rockhold, the fighter says himself. Several injuries and mistreatment from the company seem to have been the main reason behind the fighter’s layoff. In the UFC 278 presser, Luke rips UFC and the boss, Dana White.

I feel Rockhold didn't grow up since he reached high-school, he is like a teenager

It’s funny how everyone who would complain about freedom of speech and censorship stays silent when it comes to Luke rockhold speaking against the company.

It's really bad that he's the messenger. He's correct but he's such a tool that it makes it nearly impossible to even agree with him.

What do you make of UFC’s decision to snub Luke’s presser from their official YouTube channel? Do you think the company is being hypocritical when Dana White is known to be a crusader for Freedom of Speech?
