This weekend, Luke Rockhold is going to fight Paulo Costa at the co-main event of UFC 278. The fight is going to take place at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah and the card is stacked with incredible fights.

Rockhold will be making his UFC comeback after a long three-year hiatus and is currently on a two-fight losing streak. Given his form, many fans expected that Rockhold would announce his retirement; however, the fighter did his best and got a fight with Costa.

Luke Rockhold recently did an interview with Helen Yee Sports which was released on YouTube. In the interview, Rockhold discussed his mindset before the UFC comeback, training camp and upcoming fight with Paolo Costa.

While talking about his comeback, Rockhold revealed that he’s been training with Marlon Vera and his coach Jason Parillo. Rockhold explained that Chito was a great motivator for him and it gave Rockhold the energy which was needed. Rockhold mentioned after deciding on his comeback he’s been in the gym training every day. In this process, Vera and Parillo helped Rockhold a lot and their part in this is huge.

“It’s the energy I needed dearly and to go out there and feel Chito and you know he’s been a big inspiration for me to come back. You know, like feeding off that energy day to day and finding myself in that gym with Parillo and Chito and you know, it’s kinda how I got my head back in the game. I didn’t know if I really wanted it honestly and last six months has been a f* training camp every day of my life and being with those guys it’s been huge, it’s been instrumental,” said Rockhold.
