UFC 292 held The Ultimate Fighter 31 finales for the bantamweight and the lightweight division. The bantamweight winner Brad Katona went on a 3-round war against Cody Gibson. Though all eyes were on the winner, Gibson left the arena with tremendous respect from the MMA fans.

Both fighters gave their heart out in the final. This 3-round fight resulted in a total of 303 significant strikes between both fighters. Gibson fought a great fight until Katona hurt his right eye. Gibson might have lost, but he left the PPV with a huge number of fans. A history teacher by profession, Gibson won the hearts of fans worldwide with his performance.

The 35-year-old is a veteran in the sport and has shown his experience in many of his fights. Gibson stood out from the crowd because of the way he fought his fights. Before competing in TUF season 31, Gibson fought in Khabib Nurmagomedev’s promotion, Eagle FC, in the year 2022. He was also a part of the UFC from the year 2014 to 2015. During his UFC run, Gibson fought against former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and Douglas Silva de Andrade.

The history teacher showed character throughout his performances to earn a position in the finals. It could’ve been an amazing finish for Gibson if he could’ve left the arena with glory but fell short on his path to achieving his dreams. Nevertheless, fans will remember the history teacher for a long time.

Cody Gibson’s stellar performance in the finals has put his name in the history books. A history teacher in the past, Gibson left his heart out in the octagon in his fight against Brad Katona. Fans all over the internet reacted to Gibson’s effort and showed him respect. Many of them even claimed that Gibson should receive a contract because of the show he put on for the crowd.
