Israel Adesanya was highly excited about the rematch between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294. Adesanya shared a reaction video of Alexander Volkanovski’s loss to Islam Makhachev on his YouTube channel.


As Alexander Volkanovski made his way to the Octagon, Adesanya’s nerves began to set in, and he humorously exclaimed that he was “going to lose it”. Throughout the bout, Adesanya passionately cheered for his teammate. When Volkanovski was struck by the head kick, Adesanya was left in disbelief. Reflecting on the moment, he commented:

F***, it was a left kick from southpaw…Boy went over the head and just clipped him. I think [he] caught him with it in the first fight, maybe?…Still the best, bro. I love this dude.

Despite Volkanovski’s loss, Adesanya continued to express his unwavering admiration for his teammate. Following the defeat, Volkanovski plans to take a break and regroup. He has been one of the most active fighters in the UFC, averaging three fights per year.

Notably, Volkanovski, who is the reigning UFC featherweight champion, stepped up in weight on just 11 days’ notice to replace Charles Oliveira. He will next fight to defend his featherweight title against Illia Topuria at UFC 297 in January.

Israel Adesanya has decided to take a break from the octagon after his recent unsuccessful title defense against Sean Strickland.
