Neil Magny faced Ian Garry at UFC 292 a few months ago. He took the fight on short notice after Garry’s original opponent Geoff Neal pulled out. Immediately, Garry started his way around the mike to get under the skin of Magny. However, he repeatedly labeled Magny as a child abuser after a misinterpreted statement from the latter. Now, ‘The Haitian Sensation’ shared the repercussions it had in his life.

In the lead-up to the fight, Neil Magny made an analogy to beating Ian Garry as a father would to his kid. As such, Ian Garry hopped on the metaphor and addressed Magny as a child abuser throughout their press conference. This misinterpretation stuck in the minds of the public and it made rounds in the news channels. Now, Magny suffered serious effects from Garry’s comments as he’s fighting a legal battle for the custody of his child.

Neil Magny held himself accountable for the words he said. However, Ian Garry played a huge part in painting him as a child abuser. This is causing havoc considering Magny is now battling for custody of his kids after going through a divorce with his wife.

The bad blood between the two put a lot of eyes on their matchup at UFC 292. Ian Garry came out as a victor after a dominating performance. He won a lopsided unanimous decision from the judges. Now, he faces Vicente Luque in UFC 296. On the other hand, Niel Magy is scheduled to fight Mike Mallot in January 2024.
