Two UFC stars are ready to fight again, but the decision on the main pay-per-view event is the real deal amongst the MMA community. Jon Jones and Conor McGregor on the same card are beyond the imagination of fans in the current scenario.
After defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, Jon Jones challenged Stipe Miocic. He challenged the former champ to fight this year in July but was not in the talks afterward. Even UFC president Dana White said in an interview that Jon Jones seemed to have disappeared after winning the belt. But after hearing about the president’s comment, Jones said he was ready; however, the UFC had to decide.
Conversely, Conor McGregor is still training for his comeback fight. The Notorious got injured at UFC 264, where he got defeated by Dustin Poirier via Doctor Stoppage as he broke his ankle bone. After facing a loss to Khabib Nurmagamedov, Conor has not secured a good victory over a formidable opponent. Conor McGregor will face Michael Chandler in his next bout.
Recently, Terrance Mckinney posted a tweet where he teased that Conor McGregor vs. Chandler will be the main card and Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic will be the co-main event. This post has gotten a lot of fan reactions, and the responses were not what he was expecting. Instead, it just went into an attention-grabbing act.
Fans’ reactions were crazy after the teasing UFC PPV card got attention.
When Terrance Mckinney’s tweet got the attention of fans on Twitter timelines, they all showed their denial of this fight. As fans know, both fighters are stars in the UFC, and keeping them on the same PPV card will be a big loss to Dana White’s UFC.
These two fighters bring the audience to the event whenever they step on a main card. Yes, fans are waiting for the comeback as Jon Jones finished the fight, hardly doing anything in the main event except submitting Ciryl Gane. But Conor’s comeback fight after an ankle injury will end fans’ hopes if he fails to register a win again.
Both fighters will have to face a real challenge now. By the end of 2023, fans will witness Conor’s retirement or Jon Jones securing his all-time GOAT title. Since Francis Ngannou left the UFC, many believe it will be easy for Jon Jones to retain his achievement of being undefeated.
