The Ultimate Fighter season 31 came to its perfect conclusion at UFC 292. Kurt Holobaugh(Lightweight) and Brad Katona(Bantamweight) emerged victorious from the group. But the standout story belonged to Brad Katona, who made history by winning The Ultimate Fighter twice. Brad Katona was part of Team McGregor.
Katona previously won this competition in the year 2018 at The Ultimate Fighter 27. His 2018 victory came in the featherweight division. Katona found himself outside the UFC after only three fights in the organization but moved on to win the Brave CF title. He worked his way through another shot at the UFC through TUF. Katona entered the TUF group as a heavy favorite and was also known for his experience.
At the start of the season, Katona fought under Team Chandler but, later in the show, switched to Team McGregor. The 31-year-old fought through the bantamweight group to make it to the TUF finals for the 2nd time. His final matchup at UFC 292 came against Cody Gilson. Katona won the fight with scores 29-28 and 30-27 to clinch the TUF title for the 2nd time.
Katona’s victory gives him another shot at his dream of competing in the UFC. The bantamweight division consists of a lot of big names, but the TUF 31 winner aims to be better than his last stint in the UFC. Hopefully, Katona finds success in his second stint.
