Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland had an epic showdown at UFC 293. The fight went the distance, and Sean Strickland emerged victorious with a decision victory. Brazilian fighter Caio Borralho had already predicted how Sean Strickland would beat Israel Adesanya.

Analyzing Sean Strickland’s previous fight against Alex Pereira, Caio Borralho said that Strickland’s walking forward makes it difficult for one to fight against him. Borralho had previously trained with Strickland for his fight against Michal Oleksiejczuk for UFC Fight Night 223’s co-main event.

Borralho said, “He doesn’t stop coming forward… he got an awkward way to dodge from the strikes”. Moreover, he predicted that for someone like Israel Adesanya, who is a precision striker, he would find it difficult to strike precisely with Strickland constantly closing the distance. “So I’m going with Strickland for this fight,” Borralho declared.

The 30-year-old said that Adesanya would try to hit Strickland with some single punches, but with no success. Borralho’s prediction turned out to be true for the most part. Sean Strickland constantly kept Adesanya on the backfoot, forcing him against the cage at times.

Israel Adesanya tried to create distance with jabs and kicks, but with little success. The fight went the full distance, with the judges scoring 49-46, 49-46, and 49-46 in favor of Strickland. With this, Sean Strickland defeated Israel Adesanya via unanimous decision.

Caio Borralho is a middleweight contender in the UFC and one of the top contenders in the division. Sometimes referred to as “The Natural” in the MMA community, his record stands at 14 wins, 1 loss, and 1 no contest.
