Who would’ve thought the day would come when even Jorge Masvidal is not a fan of backstage brawls? Watch this recent video of “Gamebred” trying to talk sense into two fighters going at each other backstage a day before their actual fight.
Ikon Fighting Championship had two fighters break out in a fight backstage of the arena ahead of their fight event. Out of all people that were present at the incident, Jorge Masvidal, UFC superstar was the first to stop them and yell at them for breaking out a brawl. Masvidal was seen yelling at the fighters to fight tomorrow and save their rage for another night.
“You don’t get to paid to fight anybody right now. Stop! Stop! Make money tomorrow…People here watching you fight tomorrow. Fight tomorrow,” said Masvidal as he played peacemaker in the backstage fight. Masvidal is someone who could relate very much to this event given he’s been in the same place few years ago.
Masvidal’s advice to the fighters were that they were not going to get paid for breaking out a brawl backstage, instead they could save their energy and settle their differences legally inside the octagon. Fans believe it was ironical for someone like Masvidal to play judge in this moment given his history with backstage fights and public ambushing.

One of the biggest moments in Masvidal’s career was the fight he broke out in London when he met fellow contender Leon Edwards. Masvidal dropped two punches to the face of Edwards and even hurt him as he escalated from giving an interview to being restrained by everyone after hurting Edwards.

Fans react to Jorge Masvidal playing peacemaker at backstage brawl
Jorge Masvidal not only is guilty of starting a fight with Leon Edwards back in 2019, recently he ambushed his nemesis, Colby Covington in public after he lost the fight against him at UFC 272. The fighter happened to cause serious damage to Covington and got into legal trouble for his behavior. Fans were quick to point out these incidents in the comments as the video of Masvidal stopping a backstage fight popped on their timelines.

Jorge Masvidal has not fought inside the octagon since his defeat to Colby Covington at UFC 272. The MMA veteran was linked in rumors that he would share the octagon with another top contender in Gilbert Burns but that fight is now down the drain as the Brazilian is booked with another opponent. Masvidal also tried to get himself another title fight once Leon Edwards became the champion of the welterweight division. Masvidal believed it makes sense for him and Edwards to settle their difference from their past inside the octagon.
