Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Julianna Pena attended the UFC 290 event, where she met former US President Donald Trump. She took to Instagram, where she posted a photo with Trump and captioned it, “The greatest president since George Washington.” Her photo was then reposted by former UFC welterweight contender Mike Jackson.
Jackson posted her photo on Twitter and said “Doofy said, ‘greatest president since george washington’… she’s trying to get back ufc fans who have been COOKING her since those Amanda comments”. Due to this, Jackson was met with a lot of hate and backlash from fans and fighters alike. Jackson is known for his controversial tweets and posts.
Jackson was met with backlash from former rival and UFC fighter Jake Shields, who commented on his post about Pena by saying, “She would easily beat you in a fight.” Pena is getting support from her fans, who are rallying in Jackson’s Twitter comment section, where they are taking digs at the former UFC fighter.
Pena had become the women’s bantamweight champion when she defeated the dominant Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 via a rear naked choke. She came into the UFC after defeating Jessica Rakoczy in the TUF 18 finale, after which she was granted a UFC contract. She has defeated fighters such as Sara McMann, Cat Zingano, and Nicco Montaño.

Jackson was met with a lot of backlash from fans and fighters. People said that Pena would defeat Jackson in a fight, and she would make him “tap from strikes.” They also asked him to quit Twitter.
UFC fighter Jake Shields and Jackson had an altercation at the UFC Performance Institute in December 2022 after they traded insults over social media. Jackson is also tagged as racist by many of the fighters and fans. Shield’s comment on the post made by Jackson about Pena was met with a lot of support.
Jackson has four UFC appearances, including a win against former WWE star CM Punk. It was overturned to a no-contest when he tested positive for marijuana, and he has first-round losses against Mickey Gall and Pete Rodriguez.
