Nate Diaz never fails to entertain the fans. No matter who the opponent is, the Stockton Superstar shows the world from time and time again why he has the biggest fanbase in mixed martial arts.

UFC 279 was absolute pandemonium and you’d expect nothing less from a Nate Diaz fight card. The Stockton superstar entered this fight week to finish the last fight of his contract with the UFC. Nate’s biggest aim was to become free of the contract which according to him was torture. The fighter was then offered a fight against the deadly Khamzat Chimaev which he also agreed to fight.

A weigh-in mishap for Chimaev led to the entire main card being shuffled resulting in a Nate Diaz vs Tony Ferguson main event fight. Who would’ve thought that UFC’s “impromptu” matchups would end up being better than the actual fight card? Nate cruised through the entire fight against Ferguson and went out in style.

Nate submitted El Cucuy as the entire T-Mobile Arena stood up to applaud Diaz for the show he put on. The Stockton Superstar barely broke a sweat in the fight and gave the fans what they would’ve wanted from a Nate fight.

Fans were thankful that Nate got the fight he deserved. Fans were devastated that the veteran was matched up against a young and hungry Khamzat. Diaz confirmed in his UFC post-fight interview that he would be going out from the promotion and will try his hand in different ventures.

From Stockton Slaps to pointing fingers at his opponent, and also taking rest when he pleased in between fights, the main event really had Nate written all over it. The fans couldn’t have been happier for the superstar’s final fight outcome. What was going to be an uneventful end to his career sure did not play out that way.
