Francis Ngannou, after failing to agree to a new contract with the UFC, has become a free agent. According to leaked text messages from Ali Abdelaziz, he is looking for a huge payday and seems intent on making close to 30 million dollars for a single fight.

Recently, Anatoly Sulyanov reached out with a 3 million offer to Francis Ngannou. Sulyanov is the promoter of the Hardcore Fighting Championship, aiming to create an intersection where the world of MMA and Boxing can collide. The fighters should be fairly compensated, but Ngannou asking for 30 million dollars when Conor McGregor barely makes that much is too much of a reach. Ngannou recently turned down an 8-million-dollar fight contract from the UFC.

It is doubtful that Francis Ngannou will accept a deal from Sulyanov, especially when the offer is too low. But also one wouldn’t exactly know what Ngannou wants to do after his release from the UFC. He is keen on boxing Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, which seems to be the more plausible scenario. As long as the money and terms are on point, Ngannou will compete.

Based on the leaked text message of Ali Abdelaziz, Ngannou is demanding close to 30 million dollars a fight. Fans are always on for fighters making more money, but fans feel Ngannou is being too unreasonable with the claim.

A number of fans felt that Ngannou’s presence outside the MMA world ‘is relatively unknown.’ Fingers were also pointed at the ‘Predator’ for leaving the UFC. Check out some of the fan reactions:

Even though fans are not siding with Ngannou on this one, they will be excited to see who he will face in a potential return to combat sports. A fight with Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder will be a blockbuster affair and can easily be the biggest payday of his career. Who approaches Ngannou with a fair and firm offer remains to be seen.
