If you don’t know, now you know. Colby Covington is now the official UFC 286 backup fighter for the welterweight title fight. The fighter himself has put the fans out of misery by making weight in the official weigh-ins.

Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards are all set to fight in their trilogy at this weekend’s pay-per-view event. The two are going to fight with the welterweight title at stake after their thrilling last meeting. The promotion which is usually quick to let the fans know who the backup fighters for title fights are, refrained from doing so, this time.

For someone who always packs a noise with his arrival, Colby Covington and the promotion managed to keep this news lowkey. “Chaos” earlier today weighed in as the backup fighter and is all set to take his chance with a third shot at the title.

Covington is coming off two back-to-back title fight defeats to Kamaru Usman and a win against Jorge Masvidal in his last fight. The fighter now was called out by Shavkat Rakhmonov, Belal Muhammad, Gilbert Burns, and Khamzat Chimaev from the top of the welterweight division.

With no news of the fighter returning, fans surely were shocked to see the fighter jump on the scale at UFC 286. Fans went crazy on Twitter when they got to know Covington was the backup fighter.
