“More GANGSTER than all of them” – Fans shower love to Li Jingliang after he agrees to fight opponent 10 pounds heavier than him
Li Jingliang
You rarely get to see fighters like Li Jingliang. The Chinese fighter has absolutely won everyone’s hearts over in the lead-up to the UFC 279 pay-per-view card.
Li Jingliang was offered the biggest matchup of his career against the UFC legend, Tony Ferguson for the upcoming pay-per-view event. However, things really haven’t gone Jingliang’s way the entire week. From not being able to show off his AMAZING suit at the press conference to passing up on the Tony Ferguson fight for an impromptu Daniel Rodriguez fight, the Leech has been on an emotional rollercoaster.
While many would have passed on the offer to fight a fighter 10 pounds heavier than him on short notice, Li turned out to be a real savior by agreeing to replace Kevin Holland in the D-Rod fight. The Chinese fighter has truly won the fans over with his wholesome moment with former rival Khamzat Chimaev, to posing for a very stunning suit picture, saving Tony Ferguson from tripping over the wire, and now agreeing to fight Rodriguez on short notice.
Fight fans are the best when it comes to showing love to fighters who give their all to make sure the fans get their entertainment. It all started with Khamzat missing weight for his fight against Diaz which then led to a domino effect of the Leech having to take on Daniel from the same card in a sudden matchup.
Fans hail Li Jingliang as the “true savior” of the UFC 279 main card
Kevin Holland, Jingliang, and Daniel Rodriguez are getting all the praise in the world for adjusting and stepping up to fight the newly proposed matchups at the last moment. The Leech of all three is getting the most praise because of how amazing the fighter has been throughout the UFC 279 fight week. Dillon Danis, the notorious former MMA fighter of all made sense when it came to the praise Jingliang deserved.
Li was initially scheduled to take on Ferguson in the co-main event but will now fight Daniel Rodriguez who was 10 pounds heavier than him during the weigh-ins on the third fight of the main card. There is no doubt the entire T-Mobile arena will be chanting and cheering for the Leech as he walks out to the octagon. Check out some of the fans’ reactions ahead of the event.

– buys a fancy new suit, press conference gets cancelled
– matched up against 38 year old washed Tony Ferguson, now has to fight 180lbs D-Rod
Shoutout to Li Jingliang, who had been preparing for this UFC 279 press conference. Looked super sharp in a new custom suit and had been practicing his English for the platform. Bummer.

Li Jingliang is your guy.
He’s agreed to let the biggest name he has been matched with fight another guy whilst he fights a tougher fight against a hungry killer with a lot less profile who weighed in 10lbs heavier than he did.
Serious. #UFC279
Who would have thought going into this week that 'Suited Li Jingliang' would become a mythical fighter amongst legends like TRT Vitor, Sea Level Cain, etc.?#justice4Li

Li Jingliang, Couldn’t wear his suit to the press, (potentially) gave up a favorable matchup to fight a 180 D Rod. This guy is the real mvp pic.twitter.com/2AAAUtgBvQ
